			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>2009 has been great for us so far, we are seeing a huge jump in staging demand in January. Everyday our team of designers are busy with new staging appointments  and designing for various projects in cities all over the Bay Area, a sharp contrast in term of activities comparing to last month. </div>

<div>Staging business is seasonal since we follow the real estate market closely. Nov/Dec are typically the slower months since everyone is pre-occupied with the holiday events. As the end of the year approaches, people seem not wanting to commit to any major changes, and prefer waiting for the new year to roll in. Although a busy January is nothing new, however, it is surprising to see a <strong>~15%</strong> increase in our business comparing to the same months in past recent years! February is not showing any sign of slowing neither, our calendar is starting to filled up with projects for the first two weeks of Feb already &#8212; which is somewhat rare to have projects scheduled this far ahead.</div>
<p> </p>
<div>2008 was rough on the real estate market, although there will be few more rounds of ARM rate reseting this year, we are hoping to see the real estate market bottoming out soon and rebound in 2009. </div>

Nowadays, the house needs to be in top-shape in order to be competitive. Besides having to spend the money to fix-up/remodel the place, you should also remember to &#8220;dress it up&#8221;! Presentation is everything, a properly staged home is essential to help sell the property fast and at top dollar.</p>

<p>The Return on Investment (ROI) number in the chart above might surprise you, but think about this a bit&#8230; Brand new electrical wiring or copper plumbing might be highly welcomed upgrades, but they won&#8217;t &#8220;emotionally capture&#8221; the potential buyers. The potential buyers need to emotionally &#8220;move-in&#8221; as soon as they step in the front door, and be able to picture themselves sitting in front of the fireplace reading a book or hosting parties around the dinning room&#8230; </p>
<div>Staging transforms a cold, uninviting house into a warm, welcoming home. The ROI of home staging begins way before the first open house&#8230; the photos of a well staged home on the internet help attract the home buyers to make the time and find their way to your home, and boost the likelihood for a deal, which translates to a fast sell, less holding cost and perhaps at the best possible price. </div>
<div>Hire a professional stager for the job, or DIY, but definitely put in your best effort to present your home in the best possible light, because a lot of equity is at stake!</div>
